Platinum Jubilee Picnic
Wheathampstead Parish Council and St Helen’s & St Peter’s churches invite you to a family friendly community picnic. Saturday 4 June 12pm – 4pm on Rectory Meadow (behind the Crinkle Crankle Community Garden and St Helen’s Church).
If you are feeling fine and covid free, we’d love to see you.
Bring a picnic, or buy one locally. Join us for children’s races, hobby horse crafts , charity stalls, face painting, a treasure trail and pony rides. Then wend your way up to the Chapel Gym for a delicious cream tea.

Notification of Works – Harpenden Footpath 29 and Wheathampstead Footpath 78
Thanks to Hertfordshire County Council’s COVID Recovery Fund, there will be surface improvement works to Harpenden Footpath 29 and Wheathampstead Footpath 78, see map below.
The works are due to take place in June, weather permitting. The path will be closed to the public and notices will be put up a week before the works start to make local users aware.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic part-time person in the role of Communications and Event Management, who is looking to grow their career and become part of our team.
(22 hours per week includes 9.30am – 1pm and limited out of hours)
Salary FTE £25,927 (22/37 pro rata)
Experience in a multi-tasking customer-based role would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working within a small friendly team to improve the facilities and environment in our community.

Expansion of Tesco loading bay
Work is scheduled to begin to expand the Tesco loading bay on Monday 16 May to make deliveries easier and cause less congestion.. As previously notified the High Street between East Lane and the Nihao Chinese restaurant will be closed daytime. Please use the diversion route via Marford Road and Cory Wright Way/Codicote Road.
The closure will be 9.30am to 4pm only, road will be open outside these hours.
Businesses and East Lane Car Park will remain open THROUGHOUT.
A small part of East Lane Car Park will be used by the contractors and fenced off- effective from Friday 13 May. Please be mindful of construction vehicles in the car park and along East Lane.
Signage will be put in place by the contractors, who will also be leafletting the shops and residents. Thank you to Tesco for funding the improvements, and to Cllr Annie Brewster for making the project happen.
