Village Day Revamped 2024

The events team at Wheathampstead Parish Council are pleased to announce that there will be some exciting changes for our Village Weekend 2024. We will be taking the best of both days and merging them into a one-day extravaganza with stalls, activities, food, entertainment and then an evening of live music until 10pm on Saturday 6th July 2024.

There will be a field rather than a High Street parade this year, and the Talent Show will have its own day later in the year, but we are retaining most of the much-loved elements of our Village Day with performances in the Arena, village community stalls, teas, crafts, duck race and family activities until 5pm.

We hope to repeat the success of the acoustic music tent last year and will have live music from local bands from mid-afternoon on the main stage (on the lower football pitch) with plans for food stalls, main bar, commercial stalls and the fairground all making full use of the Marford playing fields until 10pm.

We look forward to celebrating our fabulous Village with you on Saturday 6th July. For more information or to enquire about participating or sponsoring the event please email info@wheathampstead-pc.gov.uk

What does Village Day Revamped 2024 involve?

The start to the event will follow last year’s format of Village Day. This part has a true community feel – local organisations, charities, performers, food vendors and entertainers come together to create the perfect family day out. The afternoon also includes a dog show, walking field parade, children’s games and activities, Village & Co artisan market, funfair rides and much more! This will finish at 5pm.

From mid afternoon the main stage will come to life with the first of four local bands. The large selection of food vendors and bars will keep you fuelled so you can sing and dance all the way through until 10pm. The funfair will also remain open for those who want to add even more excitement to their evening!
