The Folly Fields play area is now open to the public. Necessary repairs have been made to the equipment and new eco-friendly rubber mulch surfacing has been installed.
Due to the weather, we are not able to improve the area surrounding the rubber mulch until the springtime. The play area will thereafter have to be closed for up to two weeks to allow the turf to root firmly into the soil.

After some much needed TLC, the wooden noticeboards were finally ready to return to their homes on Friday 27 November.
They are now, once again, ready to stand proud and serve the people of Wheathampstead, displaying community notices and posters (no business advertisements please!).
When using the noticeboards please only use drawing pins and make sure the doors are closed properly.
WPC is working closely with the parking enforcement team at St Albans District Council to tackle the issue of parking in the village.

In line with Government and FA guidelines, from Thursday 5 November the ATP and tennis courts will be closed once again until further notice. They will be reopened as soon as it is safe and legal to do so.
Please do not attempt to access these facilities for any reason. If you see anyone (other than the maintenance team) trying to get onto the pitch after is has been locked, please call 101. Maintenance will continue to take place and this will be done during the day.

Several new bins have been installed across the village. These new style bins are closed at the top to make it more difficult for animals such as foxes and squirrels to get at the rubbish, which was often found strewn across the grass in the mornings.
Did you know that regular bins are also suitable for dog waste? As dog waste no longer needs to be disposed of by a specialist company, all dedicated dog poo bins are to be gradually being removed and replaced with these wonderful new green and gold mixed waste bin.

As we all know, 2020 has been a year of changes, challenges and unknowns. Sadly, many events have had to be cancelled or postponed and our annual Christmas Lights Up will have to be added to that list.
You will still be able to see the beautiful lights on the High Street, but we will not be having our usual event.
There WILL be something wonderfully Christmassy for the village to take part in which is much safer and allows for social distancing. Please keep an eye out on our social media and posters around the village for updates.
